Solid Wood

Solid wood flooring is machined from solid pieces of timber. Correctly maintained it will last decades. It can be re-finished to bring back the original surface appearance years after installation.

Engineered Wood

Engineered wood floor consists of a top layer of solid wood which is called the veneer. This is sandwiched on top of a durable base layer saving cost without sacrificing the finish.

Sub Floor Preparation

Before you install hard flooring, you must ensure sub floor is in good condition. Bumps and irregularities in the sub floor can cause the flooring laid on top to wear, or worse crack/split. As long as the existing surface is flat, often we won’t need to do anything. Real wood requires specific preparation procedures, and we strongly recommend we review the subfloor before the real wood flooring is laid.
